Injured Biker Files Monroe County Motorcycle Accident Lawsuit

The Michigan motorcycle injury attorneys at Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. recently filed a lawsuit on behalf of an injured motorcyclist who was hit by car while riding his motorcycle in Monroe County.  Our forty-eight year old client multiple orthopedic injuries,  including a wrist injury that will require repair.  The injured motorcyclist also underwent surgery on his knee due to the accident.  He has been hospitalized on two additional occasions because of infection and a life threatening blood clot.

The Michigan accident was caused when a negligent driver turned left in front of our client, causing the collision.  The crash did not happen far from the motorcyclists home in Monroe County.

According to the Michigan Traffic Crash Facts, from 2007 – 2011, there have been a total of 89 deaths or serious injuries due to a motorcycle cash in Monroe County.  Other alarming statistics include:

  • Monroe County ranks 13th among all Michigan Counties during this time span for the number of persons seriously injured or killed in motorcycle accidents.
  • Monroe County ranks 51st in percentage of all persons killed or seriously injured in bike accidents.
  • 11.51% of a ll deaths or serious injury in Monroe County are accounted for by motorcycle accidents.
  • The average of county rank for percentage of persons killed or injured in Monroe County motorcycle accidents is 32.00.

Our Buckfire Law motorcycle injury attorneys filed the lawsuit in the Monroe County Circuit Court.  The lawsuit was filed against the negligent driver.  No trial date has been set for the case.
