Fatal Michigan Motorcycle Accident In Hager Township

Our motorcycle injury attorney in Michigan is reporting a fatal Hagar Township motorcycle accident that killed Angelo Egizio on Tuesday, March 20 around 2:31 p.m. on Michigan Highway 63. Egizio was the onwer of Orazio’s Pub in downtown Naperville. According to police, a 71 year old driver turned in front of Egizio, causing Egizio’s motorcycle to slam into the drivers vehicle.  The driver of the vehicle claims that he did not see Egizio until it was too late to avoid the motorcycle-car accident.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 75% of all motorcycle accidents happen when a vehicle fails to see the motorcycle before the accident. Other common causes of motorcycle accidents include trucks or cars forcing motorcyclists into guard rails, speeding by the vehicle driver and/or motorcycle rider, and vehicle turning left before a motorcycle on the road.

Approximately 90 percent of all motorcycle crash fatalities include a motorcycle with another vehicle. In 2008 alone, about 5,290 people died in the United States from motorcycle accidents which is one of the highest mortality rates ever documented.

I am very sorry to hear about this tragic accident. My condolences go out to family of the deceased victim.

Our Michigan motorcycle accident lawyers advise victims of their legal rights. For this Hager Township bike accident,  the family of the deceased victim may be able to make a claim for Survivor Loss Benefits. This can include payment of funeral expenses and loss of other services.

In addition, the family members of the deceased victim may also have a claim for a Michigan wrongful death lawsuit against the driver of the vehicle if determined to be at fault. At the very least, an experienced Michigan motorcycle accident lawyer should be contacted to discuss legal rights.
