Cass County Motorcycle Accident

A 23-year-old Niles man was injured in a Cass County Motorcycle Accident when his motorcycle crashed into another motorcycle in Milton Township on Bell Road near Ironwood Road. The Niles man was taken to Lakeland hospital with apparent minor injuries. The other biker fled the scene of the accident on foot. Michigan State Police are still investigating the accident. The Niles man was allegedly found to have a blood alcohol level of twice the legal limit. The other biker has not been identified by the police at this time.

I am very sorry ot hear about this accident and hope that the injured biker has a speedy recovery from his injuries.

Depending on the type of insurance carried on the motorcycles, the biker may be entitled to Michigan No-fault benefits.  These benefits would provide for payment of medical expenses, lost wages, attendant care services, and other benefits. Furthermore, since this accident involved a collision between motorcycles, the biker may be able to file a claim for all of his damages against the driver of the other motorcycle. For a complete explanation of the rights of injured bikers in Michigan, you should request our FREE BOOK, “The Ultimate Michigan Motorcycle Accident Handbook.”  Another possible claim would be a potential Michigan dram shop case against the seller or furnisher of the  alcohol before the accident.

The no-fault insurance laws are complex and confusing and it is imperative that the injury victims and their family members contact a Michigan motorcycle accident lawyer as soon as possible so that the claims process can be started.  There are strict deadlines for filing claims and submitting bills and if not met, the insurance company may be legally entitled to refuse payment for these claims.
